TCVM - On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2025), US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has extended congratulations on behalf of the US government to the government and people of Vietnam.
In a statement issued on September 1, Rubio praised “the resilience, determination, and progress made by the Vietnamese people,” highlighting Vietnam’s remarkable growth and development. He described Vietnam as “a vital partner in the Indo-Pacific region” and a leader in tackling shared global challenges.
The Secretary of State noted that 2025 also marks the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries. He emphasized that Washington is proud of the progress achieved under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, which has bolstered cooperation in areas such as security, science and technology, education, and efforts to address regional issues including maritime security and transnational crime.
“As we commemorate this historic occasion, we reaffirm our commitment to deepening our nations’ bonds. Together, we will continue to advance peace, prosperity, and security for the American and Vietnamese people, as well as for the broader Indo-Pacific region,” Rubio said.
